Evolve Your Vision and Open Your Mind: The Beginning of My Silhouette Journey
In March 2022, I had the honor of presenting my first silhouette portrait exhibition, “Evolve Your Vision and Open Your Mind,” at the Poe Park Visitor Center in the Bronx. The exhibition was part of both Black History Month and Women’s History Month celebrations a moment that marked not only a milestone in my artistic career but also a turning point for society, as we began to reconnect and reopen after the pandemic.
A Powerful New Beginning
This show was the first time I publicly exhibited my silhouette portrait series, a style that has since become the signature of my artistic expression. Each piece reflected strength, emotion, and identity through bold color and minimal form capturing powerful stories of community and self-discovery.
The response from visitors was incredible. The exhibit received great feedback, heartfelt conversations, and meaningful connections. To my surprise, I was also interviewed by News 12 Bronx, where I had the chance to share my inspiration, process, and message with a wider audience.

Continuing the Vision
The success of that exhibition gave me the encouragement to keep evolving my practice and to create even more silhouette portraits that speak to the strength of individuals and communities. In March 2023, I was proud to exhibit again for Women’s History Month with the show “Everything Women,” continuing to honor women’s power, creativity, and influence through my art.

What began in 2022 as my first exhibition has now become a continuing journey one that connects my heritage, creativity, and purpose. My exhibition “Evolve Your Vision and Open Your Mind” was shown from March through April 2022 at the Poe Park Visitor Center, and later exhibited with Bronx Art Space. Every silhouette portrait I create today is part of that growth, inspired by the stories, feedback, and people who believed in the message from the very beginning.
