Since 2022, GZFOTOGRAFIAS LLC has proudly participated as a vendor at The LGBT Community Center's Juneteenth Block Party, returning each year to celebrate community, culture, and creative expression.
For the 2026 celebration, I had the opportunity to showcase my artwork and wearable art products while connecting with new and familiar faces throughout the day. Several visitors stopped by my table to learn about my work, support my small business, and purchase artwork and products.
One of the highlights of this year's event was creating a new portrait of Dr. Carla Smith, CEO of The Center. Using a combination of spray paint, watercolor, and acrylic markers on a 12 x 16 canvas, I began developing a piece inspired by her leadership and commitment to community. I also shared the digital version of the portrait during the event.
Another meaningful moment was having my mother, one of my biggest supporters, by my side during the celebration. Sharing these experiences together makes each event even more special and reminds me why community-centered art is so important.
The day was filled with networking, creativity, meaningful conversations, music, performances, and community connection. I am grateful to continue using art as a way to celebrate freedom, inspire others, and bring people together.
